Fordorsia M1909 Frontiersman
Range: 400 yards
Rate of Fire: Lever Action
Magazine Capacity: 7
First developed as a sporting and hunting rifle, the M1909 was bought and used by the newly formed Fordorsian Military for use by soldiers tasked with guarding the Silver Wind bridge, the only access point to The Waste. This was because, at this point, Waster attacks on the city had become much more aggressive and frequent, and the Mk.1 Service Rifle proved to be inefficient once the attackers got too close to the gate due to it's moderately slow rate of fire and length. The M1909, with it's higher rate of fire and shorter length, proved to be of use in such situations.
As it uses a rifle cartridge that feeds from a tube magazine, the M1909 is unable to use the standard 8x60mm cartridge. This was because it used a pointed bullet, which meant that upon firing with a full magazine, the pointed tip of one of the bullets could impact the primer of the cartridge in front of it with enough force to cause the round to fire inside the magazine. This problem was solved by developing a rounded bullet to be used in the same case as the regular 8x60mm cartridge for use in the M1909.
